How can we help?

We describe our style of service at TiMaTa as deeply collaborative. That starts with listening, then co-constructing through questions and reciprocal conversations that help us understand exactly what direction you want to go in so we can provide the very best advice.

Once we fully understand your need, we come back to share our thoughts on how you can meet your goals with Māori perspective appropriately woven in like a fine cape. Sometimes, that’s all you’ll need to move forward. In other cases you may need a deeper level of engagement that requires us to do more in depth research or collaborate with other specialists. We’ll tell you if that’s required before we commit on your behalf.

You’ll never be surprised by an unexpected bill for our services. Part of being open and fully collaborative is an honesty around billing for the services you require. We’ll keep you informed at every step.

Areas of Proficiency

Our focuses for collaboration are in these key areas of knowledge and experience through the eyes of TiMaTa:

Education

Much of our work is about education opportunities from foundational Te Reo Māori – how and where to use it; to Design – coordinating appropriate symbols, artwork, resources and access to other expertise. Our specialisation; is retelling stories of Tipuna, teaching protocols of entering the marae for example.

History

Local pre and post colonial history and specialised knowledge of Papawai’s role in the development of Greytown.

Story-telling

Bringing Māori story telling alive within your story; weaving appropriate ideas or references in to strengthen the outcome.

Engagement

Maximising the effectiveness of your goals, as they relate to local Māori, to ensure strong bonds and engagement.

Community

Cobblestones Museum, Greytown Community Board, Cycle Trail consultation, Greytown Heritage Trust.

Events

ANZAC, Matariki, Waitangi events.

Design

Street Flags, Cycle Trail Entrance, Merchandise design.

These are our stories based on our own lived experiences, we acknowledge they are not the only stories of Papawai.
